Amnesty blasts Tinubu over insecurity, says statements not enough

Amnesty International has criticised Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what it described as the government’s failure to tackle rising insecurity across the country.

The rights group accused the president of relying on repeated condemnations of attacks without taking decisive action to curb violence by bandits and terrorists.

Reacting to the latest killings in Jos, Amnesty said issuing statements alone cannot replace concrete steps to protect lives and hold perpetrators accountable.

The organisation warned that continued inaction could lead to more deaths, noting that attacks are spreading from rural to urban areas, leaving citizens increasingly vulnerable.
