INEC will no longer recognize David Mark as ADC Chairman

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced it will no longer recognise or engage with rival factions of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following a protracted leadership dispute.

In a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu, the commission said it would stop accepting correspondence from both the faction led by David Mark and the group loyal to Rafiu Bala.

INEC added that it would also suspend monitoring of all party activities, including meetings, congresses and conventions, until the ongoing case before the Federal High Court is resolved.

The electoral body further disclosed plans to remove the names of David Mark and other officials linked to the disputed leadership from its official portal.

The crisis stems from a legal challenge by Bala, who is contesting the emergence of the Mark-led caretaker committee as the party’s leadership.
