In a statement signed by its spokesman, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu, the group said the decision by President Bola Tinubu reflects strong confidence in Ojukwu’s ability to represent Nigeria effectively on the global stage.

Highlighting her diplomatic pedigree, Ohanaeze noted her previous roles—including ambassadorial postings to Spain and Ghana, as well as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs—as proof of her capacity.

“This is not just a personal milestone—it is a proud moment for Ndigbo and Nigeria,” said the group’s President-General, Senator Azuta Mbata.

Ohanaeze expressed optimism that Ojukwu will strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy direction and elevate its international standing.
