The case, filed before a Lagos court, alleges fraudulent financial dealings involving business transactions and digital promotions. Prosecutors accused the influencer of obtaining funds under false pretences, an allegation that has generated intense debate online.
Blessing CEO, known for her controversial social media commentary and relationship advice content, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Her appearance in court drew widespread public attention, with supporters and critics flooding social media platforms with mixed reactions. While some argued that public personalities should be held accountable like every other citizen, others warned against what they described as “media trials.”
Legal analysts say the case reflects the increasing scrutiny facing influencers and digital entrepreneurs in Nigeria’s rapidly growing online economy.
The court adjourned proceedings to a later date while the defendant remains under legal watch pending further hearings.
