Nguroje said the suspected kidnappers, on January 24, 2024, stormed the cattle ranch of Alhaji Jibo Karlahi and whisked away one Umar Jibo, 18, and Idi Hassan, 13, to their hideout at Koma Hills.
The mountain connected parts of Kojoli and Karlahi districts of Jada and Fufore local government areas.
The operation, which was carried out by the command’s operatives attached to Crack Squad and the Hunters of Tabbital Pulaku Association, yielded positive results.
The successes were the result of the strategy designed by the command to checkmate offences bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, and unlawful possession of firearms.
“The kidnappers, when sighted by our men, engaged them in a gun duel; as a result, three of them were neutralized, and others escaped with bullet wounds,” he said.
The commissioner of police, CP Afolabi Babatola, commended the gallantry displayed and directed the team to sustain the tempo as a strategy for checking crimes in the state.
Items recovered include pump action, a single barrel gun, a locally fabricated revolver gun, handsets, chains, mats, charms, and others.
