The management of the Plateau State Tourism Corporation said that after relentless search and rescue efforts, an escaped hyena has been found, tranquilized, recaptured and returned to its enclosure.
A statement issued in Jos and signed by the general manager of the Corporation Chuwang Pwajok said, “We deeply appreciate the general public for remaining calm and cooperative. This has greatly assisted in the search and rescue of the animal.”
The corporation had declared that one of the hyenas had escaped from the Jos Wildlife Park, adding that the hyena is currently being tracked by their dedicated team of game guards and park rangers using drone technology.
He assured the public that the corporation was taking all necessary measures to locate the escaped animal and ensure its safe return to its enclosure as soon as possible.
“We kindly request the public to remain calm and avoid any approach to the hyena if sighted,” the statement reads.
