The Nigerian military has denied reports alleging civilian casualties during a recent airstrike operation in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, insisting that the operation successfully neutralised dozens of armed bandits.

According to military authorities, at least 70 suspected terrorists were killed during coordinated offensives targeting criminal hideouts in the troubled area.
Defence officials described the operation as intelligence-driven and maintained that precautions were taken to avoid civilian harm.
The clarification followed reports circulating on social media alleging that villagers may have been affected during the bombardment.
Security agencies also announced major breakthroughs in the South East, where police authorities said several camps linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra had been dismantled in Imo State.
Police spokespersons disclosed that multiple arrests were made during coordinated raids aimed at restoring security and curbing violent attacks in the region.
The latest operations come amid growing pressure on security agencies to contain banditry, kidnapping and separatist violence across different parts of the country.
