Police Foil Armed Robbery Operation,arrest suspect In Abuja

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Apo division have foiled an armed robbery operation and arrested a suspect following a distress call received from Zone E Extension Apo Resettlement.

FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh said at about 6am on 12th April, 2023, the police operatives from Apo Division received a distress call and swiftly mobilised to the scene.

She further said the hoodlums, on sighting the police team, abandoned an ash-coloured BMW vehicle with Reg. No. ABJ 440 KX that contained three plasma televisions and two laptops, which they had stolen from one of the houses and fled in different directions.

“A red Volkswagen Golf with Reg. No. LUY 899 KV was similarly sighted around the vicinity with its engine running. The vehicle zoomed off upon the arrival of police operatives.

“The gallant operatives gave the fleeing vehicle a hot chase and intercepted it at the Games village roundabout. The driver was later identified as one Dahiru Muazu and another person, Halifa Hamisu was in the car and were arrested.

“The suspects and exhibits recovered are in police custody while investigation is in progress to arrest other fleeing suspects,” SP Adeh stated.

While the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations, the police said the public are enjoined to remain law-abiding, vigilant and keep up prompt rendition of distress calls/complaints through the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883, while the Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) desk, could be reached on: 0902 222 2352.
