President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr Baba Aliyu Haruna as the rector, Federal Polytechnic, Bida in Niger State.
His appointment was contained in a letter signed by the minister of education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu and made available to newsmen in Bida yesterday.

Haruna’s appointment takes effect from May 21 for a five year-term and succeeds Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi.
The letter reads, “I write to convey to you the approval of Mr President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for your appointment as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State.
“The terms and conditions of service including remuneration and fringe benefits shall be as approved for Rectors of Federal Polytechnic.”
Haruna was the director of quality assurance in the polytechnic before his new appointment.
The new rector expressed gratitude to Buhari for the appointment, saying he would do everything humanly possible to lift the standard of the polytechnic to a greater height.
