The exercise which will cover all the communities of the 21 government areas of the state is expected to round-off within one month.

While speaking with journalists in his office in Birnin Kebbi, the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr Ahmed Umar Ambursa, said the exercise is targeting about nine million animals representing 3 per cent of cows, 3 percent of goats and 3 percent of sheep and another 10 million of local chickens across Kebbi State.

He added that the federal government provided enough vaccines for various animal diseases which will cover the whole exercise.

He noted that his ministry has engaged 100 professional and non-professional ad-hoc doctors for the whole exercise.

Ambursa called on the Fulani and other animals’ owners to give the exercise maximum cooperation by cooperating with the officials who will vaccinate their animals during the exercise.

He urged the state government to provide his ministry with logistic support towards the successful conduct of the exercise.
